- Lao Tzu

KAIZEN is the Japanese word for constant and never-ending improvement. It is the only way to succeed as an athlete, the only way to change neural patters so you react the way you want, the only way to change your body. Commit to kaizen as the way to change your life and to grow and alter your mind and way of thinking. Commit to constant, incremental improvement in your life with even a few minutes of reading or listening to the teachings outlined below.

COMMIT TO THE DAILY INTAKE OF HELPFUL NEW INFORMATION

"The trouble with people is not so much what they don`t know, but that they know so much that just isn`t so."

The books in this list are not typical sports books. They are books that I have read, and that have directly impacted how I live, think, or structure my business relations. They are not biographies; they are books of timeless lessons or principles.

I Can`t Accept Not Trying - Michael Jordan
(I absolutely love this book, and it was the single greatest influence on my playing career. Leave it to Jordan, the greatest team sport competitor of my era, to write a tiny 36 page book that states the simply philosophy upon which he built his career and his life. Goal setting, hard work, belief, perseverance…he covers it all in a simple down to earth way. It reads like the truth from an honest man because it is. Common sense shouldn`t be this rare.)
